About Iron Workers No. 808

Ironworkers Local 808 was established 50 years ago, Chartered on June 9th, 1965. Local 808 was formed by ironworker members from Jacksonville local 597, Tampa local 397 and West Palm local 402 due to the abundance of work beginning in the central Florida area with the startup of NASA’s launch facilities at Kennedy Space Center and the beginning of the new Disney world theme park.

Orlando has grown considerably since then with additional theme parks, convention centers, hotels, sports complexes and the industry’s necessary to support them. Ironworkers Local 808 has provided the skilled men and women through our accredited training facility and AWS accredited weld shop to get these projects completed with the highest degree of craftsmanship and safety within the eight counties of our jurisdiction here in central Florida. We are fortunate  to have established partnerships with local and national signatory contractors, local community and state leaders who believe in our model of apprenticeship training, a fair living wage, health and retirement benefits for members who in turn reinvest these dollars back in to the same communities they live and work in.
